SkyPod - for small communities

The SkyPod (referred to as the SPOD) is a multi–function water filtration platform designed for smaller community “cluster” potable water applications. It can nominally produce 5,000 litres per day of safe clean drinking water without the need for process chemicals, power and consumables.

Disruptive water technology

The SkyPod is an example of new “disruptive” technology solutions for emerging markets that critically challenges traditional out-dated notions for water supply and civil based solutions. Specifically, The SkyPod features are;

  • It offers effective and sustainable potable water for larger household supply and cluster community water supply options and
  • empowers the users with options, such as fixed and mobile service scenarios, that are truly unlimited and wide-ranging to bottom of the pyramid (BOP) user groups. Read this article for an explaination of BOP user groups.
  • It enables the possibility for mini-kiosk vendors  and mobile water vendors via flexible and lightweight high output device

Easy to clean and doesn’t need power or chemicals

The SkyPod will effectively treat many compromised sources of surface and ground water. The unique “shake-n-flush” process combined with passive membrane configuration ensures the system operates continuously using a simple manual cleaning procedure with virtually little head pressure .

Importantly, like other SkyHydrant units, the SkyPod does not use chemicals or power for operation.

Proven and validated

The ultrafiltration membrane technology is proven and validated with existing larger capacity SkyHydrant technology.
